Throw back from my last trip to Mexico in August 2019. After the wedding in San Miguel de Allende, we moved to Bernal area in Queretaro and stayed 2 days, 19-21 August 2019.
I have seen this amazing monolith, Bernal from my previous trip to Mexico in 2007.
This time I spent 2 nights at the village Bernal, at Cabanas de Bernal. This hotel gives several options, like you can rent a big cabins (house) for 6-10 people or a romantic room, designed room, etc. I took a small cabanas called Limon (lemon), besides the bathroom and bedroom, I have also a small sitting room with a rocking chair with the view of the monolith.
The village of Bernal offers souvenir shopping and also culinair experience. You can be active also here, as after the first night, I went hiking to the top of the monolith to see the sunrise. It was a tough 1.5 hours climbing and it was pretty cold up there. But we could welcome the sun that day. We went back to our cabanas that morning to have breakfast then we visited Freixenet, the vineyard and did wine tasting before we went to the city called Tequisquiapan.
