I left Cuzco on June 8th, 2019 in the morning with a touristic bus transportation. So it’s like an ordinary bus but there is a guide in the bus and instead of stopping at the gas station for streching your leg, they stop at touristic place, what a brilliant idea!

Our guide was Marita that explained about the culture and sites that we’re going to visit and shared her breakfast a big sweet cinnamon bread with us. I had 2 seats for myself in the front, just behind the driver, great also!

The first stop was St.Peter and Paul’s church in Andahuaylillas (3093 m). It is a small chapel with was meant to be a painting chapel but they also got some other objects from others, mainly wood carving from cedar wood and gold plated. The organs are the oldest one in Peru and it is still in use.

The second stop was Raqchi (3175 m) where we visited Wiracocha temple of astrology, with geometrical shape and 11 round pillars. Around the temple, there was a residential area which were for wealthy people.

The third stop was the restaurant La Pascana for quite early lunchin Sicuani (3540 m). I realized they made spaghetti with sort of pesto sauce and cilantro. I’ll try it at home then. Behind the restaurant there is a small water fall and a baby alpaca. Everyone just wanted to pat and take a picture of the alpaca and a lady came to ask 1 Sol per picture.

The fourth stop was the highest point of this trip, at 4335 m above sea level. La Raya, the view of one glacier which also the border between Cuzco and Puno province.

Then the last stop before Puno, Pukara (3860 m) where we visited a museum. The museum has a lithic collection (stone carved) and ceramics. On the stone, the elements of mother earth, Pacha mama can be seen, together with the cat fish which symbolized the water and Puma.
