Since I live in the Netherlands, during spring time, I always get tulip flowers and place them in a special tulip vase (a vase with many openings). I love the shape, the color and to be honest, this flower is easy to get, even in supermarket and cheap (5 euro for 20 pieces, which is enough to fill my vase). As being a weird Dutch, I have visited the official tulip park, Keukenhof (https://keukenhof.nl/en) for 2 times. This park has visitors from around the world normally but most of Dutch people have never been there. This park is open only for about 2 months in a year, during spring time (April-May) and during Covid this park has not been opened that much. As alternative, I did a walk in the village, called Lisse, from one flower farmer to another one. I also visited a farmer (https://detulperij.nl/?lang=en) where you can buy the bulbs, walked around their flower fields and see their flowers collection.

It was more adventurous day than visiting Keukenhof park, as I had to find the fields but I had fun, a different day to rejuvenate from being at home.

Talking about tulip, it is originally come from the mountain area in Kazachstan and Northern China, it came to the Netherlands via Turkey. The farmers are interested in selling the bulbs and the flowers from the bulb are taking much energy so that the bulb cannot grow so big (the bigger bulb is the better price). Therefore they like to cut the flowers asap and what we buy is actually their unwanted product. No wonder is quite cheap here. Also I learnt that in order to keep the land fertile, flower rotation is needed between narcist, hyacint, tulip and dahlia. Narcist and hyacint come earlier than tulip and dahlia is summer- autumn flower. That was I enjoyed this time, more narcist and hyacint fields but also some tulip fields.
