Hello, I’m back on the road again for my own, not for my work! This time is journey to the south, South Africa. I left last saturday (22 Feb. 2019), right in the middle of the carnaval celebration... after about 10 hours and 35 minutes flying, I arrived in Johannesburg. I went directly to my hotel Protea Wanderers, as it was already about 22.00 (1 hour later than in NL).

The next day, I started slowly, about 9 AM breakfast and everyone is very friendly... they asked many times if I need something, if everything is ok... feel very welcome here. Then as it is sunday, so I went with the hotel shuttle to Rosebank Mall for the Rosebank Market. On the car park level 4, there is the market for antiques, african souvenirs, clothes, drinks, food, coffee, tea, spices, ... all the things you have, you name it... It was really nice to see and the atmosphere is very relax and friendly.

In the afternoon, I went to Soweto which is originally South West Township. Due to the moving around people in that area, sometimes it is also called so where to? It is an area on the south west part of the city, about 100 square km. Different people and tribes live there, different levels, all started from the gold mines and only healthy people are allowed to work and move there. We saw also the famous FNB Stadium was built for Soccer world cup in 2010.

I learned today from Soweto a new history about apartheid, freedom, languages, etc. Also different culture in Soweto which gave me quite an impact to myself... full of history in my mind. I think you just need to see the pictures and maybe if you have a chance to experience it by yourself!
