Today, 25 Feb 2020, I woke up pretty early at Hazyview, not from my alarm clock but from the birds outside my room. What a life, right?

The plan for today was to do panoramic road. We passed a village called Graskop driving through to see some part of South African’s canyon: 27 km long, 600 m wide and 800 m deep. It is the third largest canyon in the world, after Gran Canyon in USA and Hell’s gate canyon in Kenya.

We took a picture with the Drakensberg mountain, the highest mountain in South Africa (3482 m) which range comes from Cape Town till Lesotho. Then we went to three Rondavels, they are 3 small peaks together, which is the conical one is believed to be the king and the others are the queens. Then we drove further to Brouke’s luck potholes. These potholes were formed by the conjunction of 2 rivers, Blyde and Treur rivers. It was sort of a gorge with different holes. It is really special phenomena. From there we drove to the last point, which is called God’s window. It is a view of the forest on about 1500 m high with pines and eucalyptus trees. The view is very green everywhere, it is a simple view of the surrounding where you can hear the wind, the water, it is very peaceful too. There is another thing to see, the pinacle, a giant rock but it was not in our program.
