Last weekend I went to Lyon for a long weekend with my childhood bestie, we know each other for more than 40 years. We decided to join the yearly Renaissance festival in Le Puy en Velay which is about 130 km to the south from Lyon. The name of the festival is Roi de l'Oiseau or the king of the bird in English :-)
We rented a costume as well in order to really mix with the environment and enjoyed the different free & paid performances, and also walking around in the market and different village groups. In the village groups, normally there is a tavern, where we can get some drinks & food, but they also showed the Renaissance life style with spa, fired canon, cooking, saving the king, etc. It was also like a performances but all round the afternoon, there are some group of musicians, dancers, acrobatics, etc. who performed on the streets. We went o the Renaissance ball, where they taught us the dance steps and we saw the great fire show Arcana Pyromancy, it was quite exciting, as the fire spark were flying around.
