I arrived in Brasilia on sunday, may 12th, 2019, just before midday. The day was so sunny and bright so I went around directly with this architectural/ photography tour.
So Brasilia is built between 1957-1961 by an architect from Oscar Niemeyer. Maria Ines, my guide knew him in person, therefore she can explain everything in detail and she can point me the best place to take picture. This city was built to be the capital as it is located more less in the middle of the country, in the savannah areas with different level of platos. The ministries building has the same type of building in a row, which I think it is special and no competition about which building is better or not. Then the rose building where the international guests would place a flower on the monuments of heroes and learned about the history of the country. The cathedral with the 4 apostles statues in front of the entrance and also built in different level. The entrance to the cathedral looks like a dark tunnel then you arrive to the big light hall which was first built as a temple and not necessarily for a certain religion, although now it is a Catholic church. The art museum, this museum is for free and it has 2 ramps outside in order to bring a big art objects from one floor to the other floor, the building itself look like a landed UFO. The library has not many books in it but it is more less electronic library with different booths equipped with tablets.
Not forget to mentioned the congress center, the justice building, etc. Every building has basic element but nicely designed with a special design architecture. Water is also use in the element to enhance the design itself.
Brasilia has also a man made lake, where we visited the 6 stars hotel by the lake, designed by a Japanese architect which is used mostly to welcome the guests of the country. It is a very nice sort of resort. And the Santuary Don Bosco, where just a block building from outside but gothic style glasses in the inside, very impressive.
