The mystery of Nasca lines (figures)

Last day of May, 31... I hope to really start with a new page in June!

I was still sad about my phone and feel like just to go home… but I kept myself strong and I did my plan, took a 4 hr bus trip to Paracas. It was not a bad bus trip, they gave you sandwich and my seat was double booked with another Dutch couple but nothing happened... I even got 2 seats for myself. I fell asleep about half way then I saw the beach line with some kind of primitive resort and still under construction. Plastic invasion is everywhere here too, quite sad to see, dry area mix between sand and dust with some colorful plastic around.

I would stay one night in Paracas and the day after take the same bus back. I stayed at Double Tree by Hilton Paracas. It’s a beautiful, modern and new resort with private beach but I do not enjoy it so much, because of my phone. And it was not only that, I smashed the banana yesterday into my camera and I forgot to clean it last night. I can still use the camera but some function is not working properly anymore and I had to reset all settings also before I got it to work… well, it’s time for a new one or a service.

I got pick up at 13.00; I didn’t eat that much, only the sandwich from the bus and cookie from the hotel, as everybody warned me to get sick during the flight to see Nasca lines. Then we went to the airport, got the boarding pass and I got some explanation about what I was going to see. Nasca (Inca) people who made the giant drawing in the big dessert of Atacama. Yes it is the same dessert as the ones that I visited in Chile, San Pedro de Atacama and Argentina, Salta. These drawings are believed as the calendar of this tribe. Surprisingly, it was very cloudy in Paracas/ Pisco airport but at the Nasca dessert, it was sunny and we could spot all the figure. The figures are: whale, monkey, dog, astronaut, humming bird, heron, parrot, tree, hand, flower, etc. It was quite remarkable and still it was not 100% sure what is the meaning of those figures. The Chinese tourist behind me was sick and threw up in the plane, that made me felt sick also but I was good, no throwing up and I’m proud of myself.

Back to the hotel, I made a cup of tea for myself, took a nap then went for dinner around 19.15 in the hotel. I had grilled fish, lemonade and pisco sour.
